The Incredible Mind
I had a dream, a very nice dream last nite. I don't dream very often, so this was special. Hear me out....
Picture this:
It is a sunny evening, warm with a gentle breeze from the sea.
There are two beautiful girls, sitting on a ledge, formed on a big boulder, by the beach. One is wearing a black dress with white flowers on it (lets call her Ms. A). The other (Ms. B) is wearing a dark green skirt. They are arguing about something. I get closer, so I can hear what they are saying (it is a dream ok!!! I have no control over what happens). Ms. A is arguing pro boulder, the beauty of it, the way it feels and how strong it is etc. etc.. Ms. B ofcourse is saying how ugly and dirty it is.
Ms. A, who sees me listening to them, calls me over for an opinion. She takes my hand and runs it along the rock and asks me how it feels. It feels good, electric shock runs through my body and my hair stands on its end. Then she wants to compare it to something and the she kisses me.. a long sensual kiss... and it gives me the same feeling...then the stupid alarm went off and my dream was a goner!!!!
The thing is, when I woke up.. my hair.. really was on its end and I could still feel the kiss.. the taste.. and how my hand felt when it was rubbed on the rock. Even talking about it, I can feel the sensation in my hand. Meaning, I can recreate the feeling by thinking about it.
If you want to know how it feels, find a huge rough rock.. or a wall spray painted with small pebbles and run your palm along in one smooth and continuous movement
I also have a weird habbit.. well I have lots, but one in particular I want to share. Everytime I come across a new battery.. Particularly AA batteries, I stick my tongue on the +ve terminal. This sends a small but nice sensation through my tongue and it makes my mouth water (try it). The interesting things is, everytime I look at a battery now, I can recreate the feeling in my mouth.
I wish I could recreate these "feelings" with a lot of other things (**hint hint**).
We know that the brain is a brilliant thing. It almost (almost) begs for me to be a brainologist (:-p). But like some readers here who have the memory of a goldfish, I have the attention span of the same. So I already know that I ain't going to be a brainologist.
My "scientific" conclusion, based on testing done on a random sample of ONE (myself), is that the brain learns through association (DUH!!!). Yet I still haven't figured out... how to make my brain learn a new and different sensation and recall it. It just seems to want to learn what it wants to.
Any ideas?

Cool dream!!! Yeah, the brain indeed is an utterly amazing thing, this is a really interesting story momok, and I'm glad you shared it because I've had really incredible dreams too - mostly flying dreams, actually, and sometimes dreams about feasts when I'm malnourished and too lazy to change my pathetic living condition... and I've wondered how on earth my brain could manage to let me experience things so wonderful that I couldn't have imagined those sensational feelings if I was just daydreaming... and I've often woken up and been disappointed that they weren't real. Your dream sounds really awsome. Maybe you'll dream the same thing again one of these nights...
Apparently the brain isn't all that.
Darn it link doesnt work ok try following this up
Hannah:- In my opinion, dreams that you have when you are asleep are far better than "day dreaming".. in the sense that you have no conrol over what you dream. Hope you get nicer dreams... like mine... it is fantastic..
Darwin:- I guess it is an extream case.. but does that mean we use only 1mm of brain matter in our daily lives? Wonder how you can harness the power of the whole brain.. imagine that... you only have to read something and you never forget it... WOW.... how kool would that be...
So did you have that dream again?
Sorry Hannah, no such luck.. but I did have a dream lastnite and I was captured by a bumm.. who turns out to be the big gangster in town... not sure how it ended.. but was glad it did!!! PHEW
And you?
No, no good dreams lately... well, actually I dreamed about going to this really big feast and eating lots of spring rolls and stuff but that's not too impressive (just shows I'm a real big inside) sigh... haha you have super funny dreams though!
